Comparison criteria

Each NeverBounce competitor on this page was benchmarked on the same email list under the same conditions. Here is how we evaluated the field.

1. Provider coverage

We built our test list to mirror real-world inbox distribution. Share figures come from SellCell's breakdown of the most popular email providers by number of users - Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, AOL, and others weighted by how many people actually use them.

Every verifier was run against the same 16-address list - one valid and one invalid mailbox per provider. These are free-email inboxes that most verifiers struggle with; they show up constantly in real lead lists and are where false "risky" or "unknown" flags appear.

A verifier only gets full marks if it returns a definitive result for every address above - not just the easy corporate domains. Reported coverage is the percentage of our list each tool could actually verify. When a tool skips Yahoo or AOL entirely, we subtract that provider's share from the score (e.g. 100% - 6.4% Yahoo - 0.7% AOL = 92.9%).

2. Price (100K verifications / month)

Taken directly from each vendor's public pricing page at the time of testing. We quote the monthly cost for 100,000 verifications (or 100K credits where the product is credit-based). No annual discounts, no negotiated enterprise rates - just what a new customer would pay on the website.

3. Speed

Measured end-to-end on our full test list - from upload to downloadable results. Where a tool also offers single-email API checks, we note that separately, but the headline number is always total list time. That is what matters when you are cleaning a CSV before a campaign.

Bouncer performance

usebouncer.com · $320/mo for 100K

Verification was correct overall. On a previous run, Bouncer marked the same ProtonMail addresses as unknown - worth watching if Proton is a meaningful share of your list.

~1 minute total - slow 100% provider coverage

Pros

  • Very easy to use
  • Perfect provider coverage
  • Very high accuracy

Cons

  • On the slower side
  • Not very affordable at volume

Summary: Bouncer competes with NeverBounce at the premium accuracy tier. Strong on coverage, weaker on speed and price - a direct rival for teams that prioritize correctness over cost.

ZeroBounce performance

zerobounce.com · $449/mo for 100K

Under 30 seconds - quite fast 100% provider coverage

Pros

  • Perfect coverage and top-tier accuracy
  • Plenty of extra features (scoring, append, etc.)
  • Great for bigger teams with complex workflows

Cons

  • Not affordable at all for bulk-only use
  • Overkill if you only need list cleaning

Summary: ZeroBounce is NeverBounce's closest peer in the enterprise segment - similar feature depth, similar pricing pressure. One of the two names that come up most often in competitive deals.

EmailListVerify performance

emaillistverify.com · $168/mo for 100K

Cannot verify Yahoo or AOL addresses - those rows are skipped entirely, which drops effective coverage to 92.9% on our weighted list.

~1 minute - OK speed, still slow 92.9% provider coverage

Pros

  • Very affordable pricing
  • Fine for simple, corporate-heavy lists

Cons

  • Poor coverage on Yahoo and AOL
  • OK speed at best

Summary: EmailListVerify undercuts NeverBounce on price but gives up Yahoo and AOL coverage. Competes on budget, not on the same verification depth.

Emailable performance

emailable.com · $357/mo for 100K

Emailable verification results screenshot 1
Emailable verification results screenshot 2

Super easy to use. Like EmailListVerify, it cannot verify Yahoo or AOL - effective coverage is 92.9% on our list. Also struggles with some catch-all domains.

Under 10 seconds - extremely fast 92.9% provider coverage

Pros

  • One of the fastest tools we tested
  • Very easy to use
  • Good for quick, simple list cleaning

Cons

  • Poor coverage - skips Yahoo/AOL, weak on catch-alls
  • Pricing is not affordable for what you get

Summary: Emailable competes with NeverBounce on API speed and developer experience. Faster on simple lists, but the coverage gap on free providers keeps it out of the same tier.

Clearout performance

clearout.io · $360/mo for 100K

Clearout struggled with iCloud on the first attempt - looked like a server error. We retried a few minutes later and everything processed correctly. Good results once it settled.

~45 seconds - OK 100% provider coverage

Pros

  • Perfect coverage when it works
  • Highly accurate results
  • Extra features like email finder

Cons

  • Relatively slow
  • UI feels outdated and less intuitive
  • On the expensive side

Summary: Clearout sits in NeverBounce's competitive set as a mid-market option with finder extras. Comparable coverage when stable, but slower and less polished than the top tier.

MillionVerifier performance

millionverifier.com · $149/mo for 100K

Cannot verify AOL addresses. Their re-verification step can add latency on larger lists.

~1 min 30 sec - slow 99.3% provider coverage

Pros

  • Easy to use and straightforward
  • Very affordable

Cons

  • Struggles with AOL emails
  • Re-verifications can make it feel slow

Summary: MillionVerifier competes with NeverBounce on the low end of the market. Cheap and simple, but AOL gaps and slower throughput limit how directly it challenges NeverBounce on quality.

Hunter performance

hunter.io · $740 for 100K credits (API only)

Hunter verification results screenshot 1
Hunter verification results screenshot 2

We tested via API only. Cannot verify Yahoo or AOL - effective coverage 92.9% on our weighted list.

~15 seconds - extremely fast 92.9% provider coverage

Pros

  • Many features beyond verification (domain search, campaigns)
  • Good for bigger teams that want the whole package

Cons

  • Very expensive for verification alone
  • Lower coverage on free providers
  • Not the best choice for pure email verification

Summary: Hunter competes with NeverBounce as a bundled prospecting suite, not a pure verifier. Shows up in competitive research when buyers want finding + verification in one platform.

Wontbounce performance

wontbounce.com · $99/mo for 100K

Wontbounce verification results screenshot

Verification results were perfect on our test list - including the Yahoo, AOL, Zoho, and catch-all addresses other tools missed or skipped.

~7 seconds - fastest in the test 100% provider coverage

Pros

  • Fastest tool in this comparison
  • Most affordable at 100K volume
  • Best at the one thing it does: email verification

Cons

  • Email verification only - no sequences, finder, or CRM sync
  • Fewer native integrations than bundled suites like NeverBounce

Summary: Wontbounce is a newer entrant in NeverBounce's competitive set - faster and cheaper on bulk, with stronger coverage on Yahoo, AOL, and Zoho. Competes on verification depth per dollar rather than brand recognition or ESP integrations.
